School Football Team

The school football team results below are taken from a notebook that I have, that contains a number of different entries from my time at Coombe Road School. I probably lost interest in keeping the results after the two heavy defeats recorded at the end!

Mr Thorn who used to run the school football team had player as a winger for St Andrews in the Downs League, being a member of the successful team in the late 1930's. He was also a notable athlete, representing Westbury Harriers, competing regularly in athletic competitions at the The White City stadium in the 1930's. Home matches were played at Easville Park, normally on the first pitch as you came through the park gates at the top end of Muller Road.

In an old photograph album I have the four picture corners remaining, but alas not the picture of the school football team. However, the album does have the names of the team members:

Back Row: Geoff Culliford, Tony Perry, Keith Thomas, Paul Hook, Colin Glanville, Robin Hodge.
Front Row: Stephen Northcott, Paul Griffee, Granville Wilson, Ian Haddrell, Tony Bartlett
